Wider Achievements

As well as celebrating progress and success achieved in school, we like to share our wider achievements from outside of school too. In our Learning Folders we have a space to display any of these achievements alongside our in-school targets. If you have any achievements that you would like to share with us and add to your folder then please bring in or email photos or copies of certificates. Alternatively children can take in medals etc and I can take a photo. πŸ˜ƒπŸ…πŸ†

Open Afternoon

Thank you to everyone who managed along to the Open Afternoon on Wednesday. It was lovely to have so many attend and to see the children so excited and proud to show off their learning. Hopefully I was able to answer any questions that you may have had but if not then please do not hesitate to get in touch.

If you were unable to attend and wish to discuss anything anything then please also make contact and I will be happy to arrange a phone call/meeting.

The children will be taking their learning folders home for you to have a further look through and make any parent/child comments after the long weekend. These should be returned to school the following day if possible.

Enjoy the well deserved long weekend and I will see you all on Thursday! πŸ˜€

Outdoor learning

On Thursday next week (20th) we will be spending most of the day outside to start work on a project with the ELCC.

Please can you send your child to school with suitable clothing and footwear for all weathers! (warm and waterproof clothing and footwear!) Fingers crossed Storm Dennis will not be joining us and it will be a dry, sunny and mild day! πŸ˜‰πŸ˜€

Thank you in advance.

Starry Night βοΈπŸŒ™

Following our learning about night and day we had a go at creating our own starry night paintings inspired by Vincent Van Gogh. We started by learning a little bit about the artist and looking at some examples of his work. We then painted our own starry night backgrounds using swirling brush strokes and night time colours.

We then drew and cut out city sky lines from black paper to stick on our painted backgrounds.

Look at our fantastic finished masterpieces. Art work to be very proud of! 😊🎨

100th Day of School!!

Monday marked P1’s 100th day of school! We had lots of fun doing different ‘100’ activities to celebrate!

We started the day with a 100 themed soft start! This included a teamwork task of building 100 cup and 100 pieces of Lego structures, painting 100 dots, drawing a 100 monster, writing numbers to 100, making 100 Numicon and peg board patterns and counting in 10s to 100 hopscotch!

We then got busy making our 100 days smarter hats. This involved counting ten strips of paper and either sticking or drawing 10 things on each strip, making 100 things in total! We needed to do lots of careful counting and use our fine motor skills to stick on the objects. The children worked really hard to make these wonderful hats and displayed excellent independence skills.

Our next job was to make 100 Cheerio necklaces! More fine motor skills being developed and lots of concentration and perseverance required!

In the afternoon it was party time!!! We worked together to count 100 pieces of different food items to enjoy!

Enjoying some party food….

and a little bit of dancing!! πŸ˜€

Happy 100th Day! We are all 100 days smarter! πŸ˜€πŸ‘πŸŽ‰πŸ’―
